The situation you were handed

PM: "Customers keep asking for gift options — gift wrap, a message card, hiding prices on the packing slip, and delivery on a chosen date. Can we have it all before the holidays?"

The trap — the move that looks right

Building all four in parallel to hit the deadline, each at reduced quality. The warehouse is not ready for wrap, scheduled delivery quietly becomes "best effort", and the one feature customers asked for most arrives at the same time as the others — late in the season, when most gifts have already been ordered.
